Mission Statement It is the mission of the National Latino Amateur Boxing Association to honor the past, present, and future contributions of Latino boxers, coaches, and families, to the sport of amateur boxing. Through the framework of sports, we are committed to developing the character, integrity, self-discipline, and pride of ALL of our athletes and coaches, regardless of their age, sex, national origin, economic status or religious beliefs. We are committed to making amateur boxing in the United States equally accessible to all boxers, coaches and officials, without the limitations of language and cultural barriers, and for this reason, NLABA tournaments and business affairs are conducted in a comprehensive bilingual English/Spanish format. It is our further intention to provide a long term commitment to our athletes and coaches, that will widen the base of opportunity for these young men and women, through their involvement with positive role models, supportive sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and admiring fans, leading to an enriched and improved quality of life, both during, and following, their amateur boxing experience. Lastly, it is the goal and mission of the NLABA to work in cooperation with United States Amateur Boxing, with the intent of increasing the membership base of USA Boxing and the NLABA, by providing sponsorship funds to boxers and coaches, to enable them to purchase USA Boxing Athlete and Non-Athlete licenses, thereby providing new and ongoing amateur boxing and mentoring opportunities, in communities where such opportunities may not otherwise exist.
